East Coast Swing is a lively, social partner dance that belongs to the swing dance family. Sometimes called Jitterbug, American Swing, or Eastern Swing, it gained major popularity in the U.S.A. during WWII and later made its way to Australia. It’s a high-energy style that’s danced to upbeat swing music, big band, rockabilly, boogie-woogie, and early rock & roll.

  • Casual class rate: $20 per person, per session

5-week class pack: $100, including a complimentary ticket to the final live music dance night

Standalone ticket for the final dance night: $25 per person

  • What should I wear?
Wear comfortable workout or everyday clothes that you can move in. Feel free to dress up and express yourself, just be you!

What shoes are best for dancing?
Smooth-soled shoes are best so you can turn easily. Jazz sneakers, flat leather shoes, or basic sneakers can work. Avoid thongs, wedges, or shoes that grip too much.

I’m a total beginner. Will I be the only one?
Not at all! Many students are new to dance. I teach at a pace that’s easy to follow, and the course builds each week, so you’ll finish with real skills and confidence.

Will I get music to practice with?
Yes! I’ll provide a curated playlist for all students to enjoy and practice with.

    Do I need a partner?
No partner? No problem. Just let me know whether you’d like to learn as a leader or follower, and I’ll match you up.

Do couples need to rotate partners?
Sometimes we rotate partners during class. This builds confidence, improves your skills, and helps build community in the group.
